For those of us who are not familiar with the name Ahmed Wali Karzai, we may at least recognize the surname Karzai. This is because it is one all Americans should know, for it is Hamid Karzai that is President of the U.S.- occupied state of Afghanistan. Ahmed Karzai is Hamid's brother, and is not without a role in the prolonged American intervention.
DREAM Act Fails In Senate In Wake Of Border Patrol Agent's Death

Brian Terry, 40, died Wednesday, December 15th, 2010 after being shot in an exchage of gunfire between four agents and five suspects that took place north of the Arizona-Mexico border as the heavily armed suspects were believed to have been waiting for a load of drugs. The shootout took place late Tuesday night, and Terry was unable to recover from his wounds at night turned to early morning.

The Syrian government, headed by Bashar Al-Assad and widely considered as a hereditary dictatorship, has been warned by Human Rights Watch to "cease its intimidation and harassment of demonstrators expressing solidarity with pro-democracy campaigners in Egypt", and to respect their people's right to protest.
